That approach keeps my life more peaceful on the average.

Written language can be such a flimsy tissue for communication. A good friend from the old place and I used to exchange emails during the horrendous conference calls, mostly invective about the tripe we were being forcefed. Many times that last email said, "You know I didn't mean YOU, right?" And I knew that it didn't since we are all on the same team. Same here.

I did think it was important to note that it was the nutjobs on my block and not in the whole region whom I'm concerned will hit a canvasser on the head and drag him to the cellar for experiments.

Enjoy your weekend!Burning Khromehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05515602150819068052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5823425106728311077.post-9704980829036106752010-06-25T07:19:35.104-05:002010-06-25T07:19:35.104-05:00Ha! I should have been more clear.. I wasn't...Ha! I should have been more clear.. I wasn't telling YOU to leave me alone, rather I was referring to the "live, and let live" ideal of the West. When I worked at a big outfitter in Colorado, we would occasionally have this old Cowboy from Wyoming come into the store (and I mean OLD. I think his driver's license number was "3"). He was the sort whom you didn't ask, "How are you doing today, Sir." Because if it was any of your damn buisiness how he was doing, he'd have told you..

I can respect that.

"Lie My Teacher Told Me" sits on my shelf right next to me. Kid 1 has already read it. A vital text for ctitical thinking.Corsair, The Mostly Harmlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322481364685249310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5823425106728311077.post-76404727186020721562010-06-25T00:20:53.425-05:002010-06-25T00:20:53.425-05:00Hey, Corsair --

I vacillated over writing a post on the unique characteristics of my neighbors but decided to die a coward's death, given the eternal nature of electronic data and the fact that they don't need more excuses to not like me. Our own Mr. T who thinks that no one can see into the brightly lit picture windows has not helped that situation. The neighbor who makes the most attempt to be friendly is the lovely homeschooler across the street who finally has a moratorium on saving my soul. Still don't know which one called the cops [Not window-related]-- ask T because I wasn't even home. So, they don't play well with others, especially any hapless student going door to door. Knock-knock. Turn on the sprinklers.

H20town was much more stifling. Even the divine architecture couldn't make me go back. I don't feel marooned in the Midwest.

"Lies My Teacher Told Me" was a pivotal book for me. It's sad the way that history has been co-opted and sanitized for the masses into one long Thanksgiving pageant.Burning Khromehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05515602150819068052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5823425106728311077.post-66040550617000714432010-06-24T22:52:01.384-05:002010-06-24T22:52:01.384-05:00Lil' Sistah:
Couple of things.. I like the Ne...Lil' Sistah:

Couple of things.. I like the New Medicine track! Will have to rememeber to get the CD/frisbe. Sounds like AWESOME music to mow the lawn when I wear the iPod.

Do you really think you live on the corner of Rush and Limbaugh?? I find that somewhat amusing. Here in the Great White 'Nort, Some consider me quite conservative. When I go down south, I frequently find I am the most libertarian person on scene. I was once threatened with grave bodily harm for even SUGGESTING that some folks at the Alamo fought to keep slavery legal in Texas. Still love the "new" South though, with the same fervor I did with the West 20 years ago.. Leave me alone, I'll leave you alone.Corsair, The Mostly Harmlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322481364685249310noreply@blogger.com
